Come on now... we are talking about stock vs stock runs here. Thats like saying ya if i put gears in a 335i I would destroy a stock E39 m5. ( Just an example not trying to stir anything up)

Anyone who has ever owned a car with an artificially aspirated 4 or 6 cylinder motor knows about the hole shot problem with a turbo or blower. Sorry folks, v8 takes the holeshot, and those who don't get it, won't get it.

I agree with you on this one. But the 335i doesnt produce too much turbo lag. The car makes max torque at 1300 rpm's. What more can you ask for?
Only time I saw turbo lag if you can call it that ( it was more throttle response ) was when I did a roll with kens 545i @ 30-100 mph. His car felt more comfortable at 30 in first but my car was @ 5000 rpm's in first @ 30. So I decided to just start in 2nd which was about 1800-2k rpm's. that was a very close race but I was creeping up ever so slightly.
You seen it from the videos that it can hang with the v8 past 100 mph. But we wont know until people actually start making some good bolt on's for the car, if it will actually produce the turbo lag.
Next time joe get another gtg, Ill ask him if we can try freeway runs for higher speed. ( 130-140mph)
But of coarse this will probably be held at night so there will be less traffic. So I can assure you if you will be able to see anything.
On a side note. Ive walked a b5 stage 2++ s4 from a 40-140 mph roll on the toll road. Also a b6 v8 s4 from the same speed. At least by 3-4 car's.
Saying that the only person i can really compare that has a v8 is my friends fully bolt on gto which is making 400 rwhp and 410 lb of torque.

ive also owned a b6 v8 s4. So I know how a v8 feels with the power on tap.

Well, was supposed to post the highway runs today but ended up sleeping for most of the day. Anyway, being a spectator Saturday watching Walk U take on hollywoodtrash and heezy545i was certainly enlightening. Incredible how the 335i is at max torque from 1300 - 7000 rpms. For the 550/545 to stand a chance would require us to start our rolls in second gear @60 mph where we're at our max torque.
I think hollywood did a few runs in 2rd @40 mph. He should have been at 60 mph in 2nd. Heezy was at max torque in 1st @30 mph. Good runs for sure. We'll set something up for midnight runs in the near future.
