I am having static issues with my 2004 530i, BMW diagnosed it as a deck issue, and told me its almost $3000 to replace.

WTF???????????

Any help at all in any way would be great. And I called stereo install places and they said its not possible to install an aftermarket stereo in my car because of all the interconnecting wires involved.

I can't believe this......

WTF? $3K?? It'll get u a VERY nice setup. Do u have navi previously?

Member Eugene134 has an aftermarket touch screen navi, all different speakers and wires. If the stereo place say they can't do it, it'd because they dont have the skills to. Geez, I can even do it. Just that wiring it is the tough part.

I guess this is why people always make references to avoid owning a 5 series without warranty

no this is really a dealer issue

dealers are doing whatever they can to sham people out of warranty work because they arent making any money on car sales and are pushed to buy new stock when they cant sell the stock they already have

I went through the same thing when I had my 04. It has something to do with one of the computer systems in the vehicle and the whole thing has to be replaced not just the radio. Mine was done under warranty but the actual cost would've been around $2800. That really sucks though.
