It's obviously the dealership overlooking the problem and they should be responsible for the replacement!!

i would go in there and raise all hell
+1
I did the same with one of my wheels. Week after I purchased the car one wheel was out of round, I had it checked, went to dealer and raised hell, they replaced with a brand new wheel! Do it, you got nothing to loose.

On a side note if I can't talk them into it (I've really got no evidence outside of the fact that they were contacted about the shimmy the Monday following my purchase), has anyone dealt with Finish Line Wheels? Seems like a very good price for the oem wheels.

PS-As much as I'd like to use this opportunity to get aftermarket wheels and tires its not a great time financially to do so
As to your other question, I have used them twice and found everything to be perfect.

This winter Illinois roads have scored two rims and two tires, but not necessarily at the same time. The roads are as bad as our politicians, but we keep electing them. I am worried for the nation now, they have no idea how things may end up.

Sorry to hear this. Sucks to have a "new to you car" with problems right out the door like this. GL on getting this resolved, I would beat the fact that they overlooked the rotors may benefit you on this.

I'd be interested to see if they had originally reported that the rotors were good in their checklist.

first off don't buy from finishline I can't remember what forum I read it from but people were having issues with finishline. Secondly did you happen to buy the wheel and tire warranty? If you did then it should be covered, if not then you might have to raise some hell with the dealership from where you purchased it, and if that fails like someone else suggested go straight to bmw NA. I know there is a member here from bmw NA maybe you can contact him.

Thanks for everyone's backing on the issue.

The dealership is going to take care of it. I was concerned as I was offered the wheel warranty and declined (I've never bent a wheel before that I'm aware of). It was $800 which is more than a full set of these wheels from finishline.

They were very quick to take responsibility and try to make it right. I find out the details tomorrow, since I'm 150 miles out and on a donut I'm not sure how this will go, guessing they will ship the wheels to the local dealership and have them put them on.

So, at least for now, I've gotta give Chris at Perillo BMW of Chicago a

Again thanks for all your support!

I did have the similar issue when I picked up my 04 530i. It is my bad that I didn't take the car to Highway to test it on higher speeds. When I took car back to dealership they found 3 wheels were bent and one rear tire has a huge bulge inside. It took me about 3 weeks to settle the issue but they finally gave in and replaced all four wheels.

What size tires are on the car?

Glad to hear the dealer is doing the right thing!

They are OEM Style 116, 225/50/R17 I believe, they are the ContiTourings All Season.

glad to hear things sound like they are going to work out. That wheel and tire warranty is good for 5 years and include tire replacements as well and for the people that have aftermarket wheels I think it pays for itself even with one use. $800 seems high though I'm from Canada and I believe mine only cost $600.
