Dont feel that bad, we had a 2011 3 series in the shop today with 2000 miles hit a pot hole and bent both right rims and they are bad.. Couldn't really see any cracks yet. I hate this time of year..

the wheels usually bend and crack on the inside.

where are you located? i'm located in Dallas, and i know there is a place where they fix your rims and recondition them just like the originals for 80-90 bucks a wheel.

in fact i was scared of the same thing, when i got my 166 rims. so i went with 275/35/19 in the back and 245/35/19, to get more cushion at the back. i might go to 245/40/19, since someone told me that he didn't have any problems.

i'm near chicago. my local wheel repair/refinishing guy recommended me a weld shop nearby.
i dropped off the wheels today, and i'll pick them up tomorrow. $50/wheel, but the barrels of the rims will still be tweaked some.....tire shop said the rims were bent slightly, but i never noticed any vibrations. i had the wheel repair guy bend these wheels straight once before, but i'm done doing that as it seems to be a waste, as the bends are not severe enough to cause any vibrations. plus more than likely they will get tweaked again, so i will save the money of bending them straight, unless i bend one enough to cause vibrations, which hasnt happened yet.

i'd really like to go with a step up in tire size, but my tires are almost new still....

i think i know what the tireshop guy's talking bout, whenever they balance your tires, they put the tire on the wheel and put them on a machine which rotates your wheel at 60mph. so the machine calculates the vibrations. in my 18 OEM stock the vibrations used to be around 1.50 but you'd want it to be 0.0 using different weights around the wheels. now whenever i was on smooth road or highway i could feel the vibrations, but on a normal uneven roads i couldn't tell the difference.

i barely drive the car other then to go to work and back. and i have it down to a science where the ugly spots are on the road. i hardly ever take roads i dont know. not practical at all but i cant afford bending wheels finacially or mentally. its ridiculous

^ blame the chicago streets.

i took my welded rims to the tire shop today, and had the tires put back on. when the wheels were balanced, one of the rears had a slight visible wobble on the inside edge of the rim. it shouldnt really cause a vibration.
so when the weather breaks, i'll be putting these wheels back on and hold my breath till the next pothole strikes.

judging by your av, you got 20's maybe??
i take my car everywhere. i wont let the wheels dictate where i go. i'd rather get smaller diameter rims if i get too paranoid.
