22's are a rather large wheel on our cars. The tires will be more like rubber bands in order to keep the setup at the same ride height. You can always get a larger tire IOT protect the rim, but will offset your speedo and cause rubbing issues (I get rubbing with 285/35 19's). You will also compromise the factory driveability/power with that much unsprung weight. I am running 22's on my SRT8 and noticed a severe decrease in power, and am pushing signifigantly more HP and TQ than our E60's.

Whatever you do, don't cut springs.....leave that to the Honda guys. But in the long run, it is your car. Until we give you the $ to do so, MOD to your own taste!!

I wouldn't go with the 22's. Leave that for the 6's and 7's unless you want to look like this guy....

I love how he hits up the back seat in the video, I guess that was for the ladies??? Hahaha
Think you guys are right, i'm going to stick to 20", maybe just grab a new set to change the look. Thanks to everyone for the feed back.

I don't know about you guys, but I actually saw this in person at the start of the Gumball 3000 race, and BOY did it look good!
On paper, I thought 21's would be stupid on an e60, but when I saw it, it was a simple case of
They do look pretty sweet I must say.

i would say that 20s are the way to go, but only if you drop your car as well...

here around detroit, people always think that im running 22s bc my wheels completely fill-up my wheel well....then i explain to them how my car has been lowered and they finally get it.

22s are simply far too gaudy for a 5 series....if it were a 7 series then it might be more appropriate IMO

I had 21" ACS wheels for a while and in my opinion they were just too big! 20's with a nice drop on the suspension is perfect!

Here is mine on 21's
