I would like to begin this topic by expressing my deepest appreciation to BMW for making The Ultimate Driving Machine: my very own 2009 550i. That being said, I would like to inquire about the differences between the 2009 BMW 550i and the 2010 BMW 550i. Specifically, I was wondering if BMW was making Navajo White available as an exterior color for the new 550i?

I like to keep my cars fully up-to-date to avoid any mechanical problems that may arise. I usually put about 10000, and I've usually heard that the general rule of thumb is to sell your car after that many miles? Right?

Not to mention the benefits it has for my love life ;-)

You mean "Wow why do you [and your wife both each] get a new BMW every year ?

I suppose the difference between getting a new one each year versus getting one every 2, 3 or 4 years is all about the depreciation versus the costs of any spares/repairs/consumables (e.g. tyres/pads) that need paying for. I imagine that when you work it all out, it's probably not that much more expensive to get a new one each year compared to every few years. On the other hand, they say the moment you drive the car off the lot it's lost X% of it's value and that depreciation drop is biggest in the first year.

Your BMW dealer must love you captainawesome, buying two brand new cars every year. Personally, I prefer to buy a 3-4 year old car and sell it after a year, around the time the warranty runs out.

As for the original question, I can't see them making any significant changes to the configurations in the final year of the E60. I would expect what's available this year will be next year too. I'm surprised you haven't asked your dealer. They probably have VIP service if they see your number on their caller ID
