In my opinion, The 550i may be desireable

I'd go with the more robust power plant of the 550i. It will likely hold up better over time

This is true of any car. Unless you're buying a desirable classic, any car you buy will depreciate over the time you own it.

I would with the 535 just because of the x-drive......because you can't install that aftermarket. If the x-drive saves me once from spinning my wheels in the winter while doing simple tasks such as pulling out my drive way then it's worth it for me. If weather is no concern (as in never snows) then I would absolutely go with 550 for the extra power. The 550 is more expensive new and more options too.

Personally I don't think its a fair comparison.

HAHAHA, Bro, I drove a 72 Monte Carlo with a 427 in it through almost 2 years of High School in Colorado. Driving a RWD car in the snow is NOT that difficult. On the contrary, for some drivers AWD gives them delusions that they cannot slip or slide, AWD can help you get going in the snow, it will NOT help you stop.

Surprised to see the confidence on the x-drives when the experts repeatedly point out that a rwd with snow tires is better than an awd with all-season tires.
