I have searched and can't seem to find anything. I just got a new 2009 535i. When the headlight switch is in the auto mode the lights keep turning on and off at a fairly rapid yet inconsistent pace. I noticed it in bright daylight when I was at a stop light behind another car. I was thinking a light control module or daylight sensor was the issue. Nothing is blocking the sensor, the windows are not tinted and I was not being shaded by anything.
Anyone had this issue? What was the problem?

Sounds like a faulty switch or sensor. Does it do that when the car is parked? Being a 2009, the fix is covered under warranty. Bring it in.
