2008 or newer vs older e60 sport automatic (DS) shifting
#1
Is it true that 2008 or newer model 5 series has automatic transmission that shifts more smoothly in "DS" mode than 2007 or older 5 series automatic "DS" mode? I noticed the "DS" mode shifting is jerky ("D" mode is not jerky) in my 2007 530 but not in a loaner 2008 528 whose "DS" is as smooth as "D".

Hold your gas pedal fully down for 35 seconds.
This will make your transmission smooth again.

My Ride: 2008 5351 Black Sapphire Metallic, Black Dakota Leather, Sirius, Sport Package
I have an '08 535 and mine shifts considerably harder in DS than it does in D. I have reset the transmission also and that does help until it "relearns"

Put your key into the slot and press the start button without starting the engine. (Buckle up while you are doing this)
Hold your gas pedal fully down for 35 seconds.
This will make your transmission smooth again.

Is there a version of this for a key ignition vs. push start? My tranny is rough between 1st/2nd in D and DS
thanks,
Brad
Edit:
Answered my own question: no cool start button

Mine shifts pretty rough on DS mode. Even when i "refresh" its memory with the 35sec. trick.
