Default 2008 E60 Siren, Tilt sensor and RLS sensor

Hello all,
I bought a 2008 528i with 100k miles a couple of months ago and just finished doing preventive maintenance on valve cover, OFHG, OCHG, and transmission pan and seals with fluid flush.
I used ISTA-P and found out some of the modules in RED. In INPA - no response from from controller message, Following are the list of problems. Please help. I do not have the fuse diagrams in the car. I found one online for LCI and used that as a reference. If I am checking wrong fuse please correct me and if someone with a 2008 528i can post image of both fuse box diagrams it will help me a ton.

1 - Siren and Tilt sensor - I checked the fuse 51. Fuse is fine. My guess is the module is disconnected. Can anyone please tell me where to find the tilt sensor. I know the siren is in the rear right wheel well. My clown nose has never once blinked since I got the car. In idrive I can see the options for visual and audio confirmation for lock and unlock but the options cannot be selected. Also my rear right door does not lock by remote or central locking button in the car. I have to manually lock the door. The child safety is in case i forget to lock the door. May be this is a reason PO did something. Please tell me what to do next and what to check next. I do not know where the module is located to physically check the connections.

2 - Sunroof - Does not work. INPA and ISTA cannot communicate with the module. Fuse 66 in the trunk is fine. I do not know where the module is to check for connection and any errors. please help. It is currently in closed position.

3 - Rear view mirror auto dimming does not work. Fuse 51 is fine.

4 - Date and time resets every time the car is turned off and after more than 10 min or so. IBS is still connected and still running on factory battery. Never had any starting issues and even after a 2 weeks of not using the car, the car starts up just fine. I am not sure if its the battery or IBS. If its the IBS how do I delete the IBS ? which wire to disconnect ? FYI the radio also resets to weather by default everytime the time resets and I cannot even program out the weather station using NCS expert. when I try to read the MASK module I get some COAPI error.

Please help me. Any advice is appreciated.

I'd check around to see if there's wiring damage or corrosion from water somewhere. There could be lots of different things causing your issues.

The IBS is in there with the battery. You can simply disconnect the plugs. If low charge goes away for a long time, then that's your culprit.

You could then leave the IBS out of the picture but then your car may push too much or too little charge to the battery.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. can you please point me towards the locations where to check the wiring and how to access them ? in brief is fine.
Any idea where the tilt sensor is located ? or is it in the siren itself ? my e46 had a tilt sensor near the battery.
I figured my RLS is not working properly or is damaged, I am going to find a replacement for that, but i need my alarm to work,
Pls help

Since I cannot find my photos readily, I'll describe how to get to the IBS....
  1. Remove those plastic screws from the rear right pillar
  2. Lift up bottom trunk cover
  3. Remove pillar and you will see your battery
  4. You will see a long smaller wire more so near the negative terminal
  5. Disconnect the connectors to the IBS (which sits on top the negative terminal)

Hi,
I Have sorted out the battery issue. It is indeed the battery. I have a replacement one and will install it soon. I am going through the DIY threads of battery registration.
But I need help in Sun roof and alarm. I removed the sunroof module to inspect for damage and none present. all wiring looks good. fuse looks good. but it does not respond. I am going to remove the right rear wheel well to get access to the siren alarm and tilt sensor. But I am still not sure if i am looking at the right fuse. Can you please point me in the direction of the fuse numbers to check for these modules ? I do not have any fuse diagrams in the car and the one I find online is a bit confusing.
My car is a 2008 528i LCI with halogen projectors and LCI tail lamps. If i compare the fuse diagram to my car there are a few fuses that does something else completely. I am not even sure how to check the wiring for the sunroof from the rear fuse compartment.
pls help

is this for LCI or pre LCI model ? I think there are more than 2 fuse diagrams. Some of these do not match and the actual fuse box is different in the trunk..

You have a N52k.

I have a N52k.

The fuse box diagrams are for a N52K.
