Hi,

Someone hit my rear bumper at the parking lot during lunch hours. I came back and found there is a nail poping out from my rear bumper. Is this serious? Is it possible to cause any structure damage?

Why would nail pop out?

Thanks!

Is that from the inside of the bumper or perhaps from the car that hit you....?

Kinda strange that it's a 'nail'.....

I would say that you car has been shot with a nail (rivet) pistol.

Check out here.
No serious parts damaged, I think.

I would take this matter to the police!

But if you know better...

You got shot!!! That is deffo from a rivet gun. What sort of parking lot? Any construction going on around you? This ALMOST looks as if it had been done intentionally. Bizarre.

it does look intentional, but i dont think its any serious damage. the only damage would really be the bumper. good luck with that.

So that isn't an example of "option 007 -- nail-bumper" that's only available outside the USA? I think it works in conjunction with the PDC sensors to prevent other cars/objects from hitting you...

If that's not what it is, then I'm sorry that you got shot with a nail/rivet gun.

No doubt that came from outside traveling inward....can tell by the inward dent and the flake pattern of the paint. A bullet would make the same pattern. That sucks!
