Hey guys,
Just recently picked up a 2008 535i. Has a few mods H&r Race suspension, 20" VMR 124's and some other stuff.
I have all the stuff I need to convert the fog lamps to HID, however I have a quesiton about what would make for an easier installation.
I know you can pull the headlights out to get to the bulbs. I have access to a lift as well, and was wondering if it was easier to do the install from underneath, removing the belly pan / porkchops to get to the back of the fog light housing.
In my old bmw I had the ballasts zip tied to the brake ducts. Is this a good place for them or is there a better place in the E60?
Thanks in advance,
George

If you have access to lift and electronic tools, I would say it's easier to jack it up high and go from underneath. Otherwise taking out the headlights would be easier if you're on the ground.

Yes I have access to a lift and a complete shop so I think that's the plan. I actually ordered the 6w LED angel eye kit as well, so do I have to pull the headlight for that, or can I access the AE bulb with the headlight in place?
Thanks,
George

Some people have been able to change out the bulbs without taking the headlights out, I personally can't nor do I recommend that. You'll most likely end up with scrapped hands, pissed off, and take out the headlights anyway.
