Hi all, I just bought a 2008 550i yesterday. Somehow on way home from dealer the left front bumper came apart. The dealer just put on the chrome wheels I wanted. I live 35 miles from dealer. I looked at it at home and inside the bumper was some masking tape on a styrofoam piece taped to a metal piece on the engine front. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I took the car to dealer and will know more Monday.

Masking tape? For real????
Bring it back to the dealer and make them put the bumper together correctly.

wow that is horrible. Glad you took it right back to the dealer. They could have at least used duct tape. It might have been the previous owner that did a quick fix before the car reached the dealer. Hope everything gets sorted. Welcome to the forum BTW!

Did you buy the car from a BMW dealer? When I bought mine, I was told that a car in a previous accident could not become a CPO car (assuming your car is a certified pre-owned). That is a BUMMER!! Hope the dealer makes good.

Two things are coming to mind here...
1. What kind of dealer does a half ass Sanford and Son style repair with masking tape???? Duct tape would have been bad enough, but masking tape???
2. Did you say the dealer put ON the chrome wheels you wanted??? Chrome??? Really???? On a BMW... we are talking about an e60 right? Not a ricer Honda, Subaru or something Japanese right?
