Why don't you consider the 535i? Then you can install the PROcede software and have available 400 hp/ 400+ torque at the crank and possibility more with an aftermarket exhaust. Take that modded beast to a Launch Meet.

Does anyone know if the 335i/535i engine is a new, or is the same updated 525i/530i N52 engine fitted with twin turbos? Because if it's the later, then I might look into slapping on the 2 turbos later down the road.

335/535 uses the N54 engine. No chance of you slapping on the turbos down the road.

BTW, I ran a stock e92 from 80mph in 3rd gear and he blew by me. From 1st and 2nd gear, the 545 does okay against the 335, but up top, there's no chance. The gap was similar to what brian's 550 put on me from a 3rd gear roll, so I'd have to say that those two cars would be comparable.
Did sharewin ever call you about going to the irwindale on thursday? I think I may show up, but we'll see. If you're interested in driving up, let me know. We could grab a drink or something afterwards. And dood, you missed out this weekend, the drive up was crazy....vegas wasn't too shabby either.
