I saw a new 2008 550i in traffic behind me this AM. It was a bright sunny day in Chicago. He had his parking lights on without his headlights. The Angel Eyes were bright white.
I asked my service writer if the bulbs were different. He said the headlights were different which I new.
Does anyone know if the issue is the different headlight, or different bulbs we can use on 2004 ? 2007?

If the LCI e60s are anything like the e92s they are using the angel eyes as DRLs. Yes, stock the angels eyes are super bright as witness by you. You will need a new headlight unit to get the same results as the LCI models.
Looks to me like Angelibrights.com and Umnitza will have a dwindling customer base as I'm sure there will be a lot of pre-2008 e60s retro-fitting the headlight units for two very desired mods: stock bright angel eyes that can be seen in daylight and clear corners.

actually, our market is only growing, only because BMW insists on going with angel eyes that are yellow and no one wants that
We are about to release a white only for the E92, in a few days.
And the E90 is only 3 weeks away.

My Ride: '05 545i - scheduled for ED pickup in Munich on 7/22!
although the e92 angel eyes do look brighter/whiter than old e60 angel eyes, they still don't look as bright/white as aftermarket angel eyes.
i've seen a few 550i sport lci's around town during the day, but their angel eyes were off.

the e90 angel eyes (esp. inner ring) appear to be brighter than the current e60. the lci e60 will probably be the same brightest as the current e90. i have not seen the new lci e60 in person yet...cannot be certain. but from pictures, the rings seem to be the same characteristic as e90.
i agree with vegastrashed on this one. to me aftermarket angel eyes are alot less bright than stock. with the whiter color aftermarket, angel eyes will appear even less bright & washed out during the daytime.
