2008 535i sport vs. 2007 335i mani vs 2004 G35 Tuned

Last night was quite fun.
2008 535i sport (auto, using paddles, esc off) vs. 2007 335i sport (mani, esc off) vs. 2004 G35 which ive helped tune (auto with full intake and exhaust, spacer, sprintbooster equivalent, etc laying down around 300 at the crank, esc off)
So all cars evenly matched, minus weight and gearing, so a fun race.
0-60 times, the 535 sport is rated at around 5.2-5.4, because of the sport package. 335 is around 4.8-5.0. G35 is around 5.5 give or take.
Sounds evenly matched give or take? Somewhat. Close at least.
Around say 15 pulls, rolling and stopped. Taking out all spin and bad launches and mistimes, etc, the 535 and the 335 kept up VERY closely, on a slightly uphill to around 110 my nose was literally at his rear wheel so not even one car legnth.
On a rolling run, literally nose and nose, give and take back, give and take back, all the way to around 125
The G35 was slower considerably, lets say around 2-3 car legnths behind. On my best run with decent launches by all, the 535i pulled by 1.5 legnths on the 335 and around 4 legnths on the G.
Just wanted to let you know that our car really truly isnt as slow as it may seem in comparison to the 335. And that a well-tuned G isnt as fast.
Quite a fun night =)

Thanks, not many real comparison tests with the 535. Makes sense the slightly lighter 335 is slightly quicker.

If you pulled the 535i's spare tire and went with lightweight wheels, I suspect it would be dead even with the 335i. The beauty of the 535i is the stealth factor. No one suspects it's quick.

Well, what about a G37 or a 370Z?

No problem, it was my pleasure.
Yeah the car had a fair amount of stuff in it. Plus the runflats from the factory. I think that with a bit of weight savings it would have been quite even.
As for the G37 and 370z, I have a feeling we have the G covered. 370z not so sure, probably more even.
Also on a wide sweeping curve, i was even with the 335. That may have been a slightly due to me being a better driver but still a decent indication of how well these cars are matched.

The 370Z is not out yet. My brother has a G37 S but I think its a little slower. It has the hp but not the torque.

The problem with using a impromtu street race as a comparison is difficult because you never know what the other guy did to his car. I raced another 535 the other day and ran away from him. He caught me at the next redlight and kept doing double takes at my 535 emblem on the back of the car in confusion. I have another 84hp and 121 ftl lbs on him but you could never tell by just looking at my car.

These were all my friends...I know their cars well.
As for the G37 coupe, its a bit lighter isnt it? and the gearing may make a diff over time...
80-130 is a span of 50 mph, add another 80 mph to that and you have a total of 130 mph, so in that im sure you would have pulled away easily.
