let me see if I get this right,
$811 x 36= $29,196.00 + $2,500.00=$31,696.00
So, at the end of 3yrs you are out $31,696.00, & have no car to show for it.
I'll never understand leasing
That's because you don't understand the tax code. Leasing is the best option for many small business owners. I pay PRETAX dollars for a lease to own (meaning my buy-out at the end of the lease is just $5,000) meaning at the end of 3 years I own the car for about half of what I would have paid if I had "bought" the car conventionally.

Keep in mind that when you ask if your price and terms are fair on this forum you will always get the gang that says you are paying too much. I could post saying I bought a 550i for $1 and there would be at least one post saying I paid to much. Sounds like you got a decent deal to me so just enjoy the car.

Leasing is nothing more than a lucrative method for car manufacturers to sell their cars. The dealers promote "lower monthly payments" which is, sorry to say, exactly what the American public wants to hear.

The truth is that when you sign a car lease, you still pay the sales tax, registration fee, title & tag fee, ad valorem tax, insurance, & state inspection fees. Thus, even though you dont own the car you are still stuck with all of ownership responsibilities. Furthermore you cannot make any modifications to the car and you have to keep annual miles below a certain amount (usually 10 - 12k). Unless you live and work in a city or only drive your car on the weekends, this ain't gonna happen. The average miles per year on a daily driven car is at least 15k. Pay the extra $$$ to the dealer to include the extra miles per year and then it becomes cheaper to BUY or even RENT.

IMO the only way leasing makes sense from a financial standpoint is a follows:

1 - the car is purchased for use in a business.
2 - you are intent on buying the car when the lease ends

For those who belive in the concept of "having a new car every 3 years" you are REALLY believing in the concept of "always having a car payment". You are also outstanding contributors to your state and local tax office. Don't worry, you are still loved

The best business model for manufacture in the world is called "Gillette" model. Customer is tied to buy new razor insert every month or so, or risk looking like a caveman.

The same with leasing, every 3 years customer will have to get new car.
No wonder software company now are thinking charging user per pay instead of selling Software in CD-ROM, this creates more constant revenue in long run and looks cheaper initially to customers.
