The car has 200k miles, stage tuned and feels solid as new except when accelerating in normal mode. When you give it throttle it jerks like 3 times per second (estimate) but as soon as you switch to sport mode, it’s smooth as butter. I was thinking it could be spark plugs or fuel injectors, but I wanted a second opinion and this is my first sports car (from a pruis.) it Could it be the stage tune’s timings?
This car is stage 1 tuned and hesitates accelerating on normal mode, which is unusual. Problem isnt there when in sport mode. Could it be the timing from the tune? Fuel injectors? Spark plug? Please help with suggestions.

Multiple items can cause the issue you described. You really need to have diagnostics performed. BMWs do lots of self-checking is why @seanjordan20 asked about the CEL.
