Actually, it would be an additional 60 lb-ft and 60 HP (300/300 vs 360/360). Having an additional 300 lb-ft of torque would put you at 660 lb-ft of torque, which would be amazing!

The 535i has a broad torque curve; it's flat from about 1400 rpm to just over 5000 rpm. Pretty impressive.

I think SergeyM is referring to weight, not torque...

I have had turbos before since the mid 1980's. One of the economical benefits of a turbo is that while your cruising at a steady state, like on a highway, there is no additional boost needed or generated so you are only pumping fuel through at 3.0 liter motor- with the 545 or 550 even if the power is not needed your can still theoretically use 50% more fuel simply because the engines displacement is 50% bigger. Thats the only reason that the V8 cars have a lower (numerically) final drive ratio which is to make the engine spin slower than the 3.0 liter, thus its acting like a smaller displacement motor.
Now in real life driving my 525 got 19 miles per gallon, my 545 gets 17 miles gallon. That because I was revving the 525 much more to get similar acceleration as my leisurely driving of the 545. Spinning it higher makes it act and consume fuel like a bigger motor.
The old problems with turbos were that they generated turbo-lag and they cooked the oil that sat on its bearing surface after you shut off the car after a hard run. A turbo is like a supercharger, which is mechanically driven, but instead it has a turbine in the exhaust system and a impeller in the intake track. The lag come into play when you accelerate which changes the speed that the turbo spins, but with todays light weight turbo components this lag is minimized. Also the more general use of synthetic oils have solved the oil coking problem on the bearings and shaft.
I think I'm handing in my 545 SMG and getting the 535 Sport Auto. The big thing to me was that I fell in love with the looks of the 545's staggard wheels and now the 535 has that as well.

Page 4 in the USA brochure is the same picture as page 4 in German brochure although one is badged 530i and the other 535i. I'm hoping the the 535i will have the same dual exhaust as in the 335i?

The Carbon Black 550i Sport shown in some of those pics looks stunning! I'm anxious to see how different the sport suspension feels and what the exhaust sounds like (more like a 650i, I hope). Also anxious to find out more about the new sports tranny.
I am also really anxious to find out what the exhaust sounds like, however, I really hope that it does NOT sound like the 645/650. I think the 6er V8's sound too much like American V8's and I don't like that sound much.

The US model still doesn't get the rear bumper reflectors?

They fixed the grain on the anthracite trim (it is called something different now) - I always hated that it was a vertical grain -now it looks GOOD IMHO.
