i have a 08 528i with non-hid. interested in converting it to factory hid xenon assembly. my question is. is it just plug and play if i can get a set of xenon headlight assembly with bulb and ballast? or the the connection to the headlight is totally different? any one has any experience? any input will be greatly appreciated.

Once you buy the adaptive headlights, you'll need leveling sensors front and rear, a new light control module, different harnesses and connectors as well as a complete recoding of the cars CANBUS system. It would be a $4000+ job with BMW parts. No, I'm not kidding. You might be able to source scrap parts, but usable headlight assemblies are few and far between. I'd say look aftermarket, and just lose the leveling, but you'll also blind oncoming drivers...

Nice friend! I went the El Cheapo way and bought a canbus kit for $135. They worked great. I keep forgetting to water that money tree in the back yard...
