My Ride: I have a 2007 Black Sapphire BMW 530i with SMG. It has the auburn interior, has PDC, Sports Package, Premium Package, rear automatic sunshades with manual side sunshades, 35% black tint, Upgraded angeleyes from Angelibrights, and Logic 7 Sound System

it looks like the smg shifter, but with all those buttons, it looks like an M5 shifter, but the current m5 and regular e60 smg shifter is butter, this one is just ugly IMHO

Looks like the step shifter from the emblems on it.
Edit: On second thought, after looking at the current SMG shifter, this does look like the SMG.

To me, it looks like the steptronic shifter. It resembles the arrangement of the shifter on the 7-series where it's all done "by wire" instead of a mechanical linkage setup.
Most of the "ugliness" will likely go away since it's likely that the parts are prototypes or parts cannibalized from other cars. (The base is out of a current M5...)
