My understanding based on several international automotive press stories is that the facelift will be unveiled during the 2nd quarter of CALENDAR YEAR 2007. That would be 4 years after the original E60 launch in Europe.

OK guys,
to settle this MY 07 thing, it?s like this:
BMW AG (the company) has made very minor changes, commencing in production from March 2006. In the German pricelist effective 1st of March 2006 (with a slight rising of overall prices) You have exactly four changes: 1. Aux-In is standard on all models; 2. You can choose a Innovation Package (containing things like active steering, bi-xenon, Dynamic Drive at a better combo price); 3. Night Vision available at 1.950 EUR; 4. DVD wiring for back seats available. There are definitely no changes in exterior or interior design right now.
Model Year 2007, seen from this side of the atlantic ocean, starts in September 2006; when a facelift of the E60 with some changes concerning front and rear mounted parts (i.e. bumpers, maybe lights, grilles or similar) is quite possible, but not fur sure yet.
Sorry, but the world does not revolve around the US, and European model years change in September, after the summer holidays in August with a reducing of working shifts in most car works. Everything else would just be a marketing thing.
Just my ?0.02.

Let's be fair and admit that the options (and even the models) on the cars produced for the US are different than other parts of the world - right? And here in the US, we will have a true model year 2007 E60 in March - with different changes than you quote (HD Radio, ability to get the CD changer separate from Logic 7, etc.).
So....
Yes, in Europe (and maybe even everywhere else in the world) you will get the 07 E60s in September. But here in the US, we will have "our" version this month. Right?

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble...but I've read that the "F" series is already being designed. The "E" designation will no longer BE...at least for the 5-series. According to the report, at the time of the report, the 10th iteration, or F10, was on the drawing boards...just what I read...

The "center of the universe" thing was just for fun, no offense intented!
Just to clarify my opinion: of course there are different options in the US and maybe MY 07 starts in March for the US, but the topic question was, if there would be changes to the body style.
And I say "no", the car itself will remain the same at least till September, thats all.

This may sound a little too premature but has anyone seen any sketches of the F10?

Didn't someone post in another thread that they discovered that the US part numbers for the -doors- are changing for -our- MY 2007? This would seem to be a strong indication that cosmetic changes are afoot for Feb-March production, regardless of other region-based distractions.
