I just got a call from a salesman I know who mentioned to me that the 2007's were going to have very subtle changes to the body. I seem to remember a thread a while back that actually had some spy pics of an 07 that didn't really show any changes (I tried doing a search, but couldn't find it). The salesman told me they tweaked the lights a bit.....anyone hear of this/see this? I was under the impression that the biggest change for the 07s was the price!! :'(

Since the E60 was intruduced in the summer of 2003 and BMW facelifts their models after 4 years, the facelift will happen in September '06, when the production of the real BMW E60 MY '07 starts.

MY's starting from March is a US marketing thing only.

Maybe you should wait till fall?

This would mean that in September '06 when the real BMW MY '07 starts, a facelift will happen.
Well, from I understood, this "alleged" MY07 change would be very subtle, not a facelift.....

A facelift only, but what that means we do not know yet.

Usually BMW changes the lights (back and front) the grill and some minor changes to the
hood and the bumpers and fenders could also happen.

Also some new engines could come out.

But the changes will not be that dramatic (relatively), but every E60 owner will for sure see them.

There is definitely no changes to the lights at all, the upcoming change is like you said a very subtle change to the lower portion of the bumper in the front and the rear. From what I remember about the rear, it curves in, where as now the lower portion flares out.

The truth is I don't think anyone would notice the difference except those like most of us on the forums who go out of their way to noticed the smallest differences.

Peace

I'm not sure where you get this marketing thing from. The 07s comming out this month are most certainly 2007 model year cars. There are changes and upgrades to the content as well as the options and the car has gone through all the government testing and whatnot required for a new model year. It is far from a marketing ploy - in fact, rumor has it that it was driven by California emissions.

Yes, BMW do some changes also into the March production cars,
but the facelift will happen in the fall for the MY '07 cars.

The March and post that produced E60's are MY '06 in Europe.

So US will have '07 models which are not facelifted (or will BMW NA call them '08's???)
and those who are.

About BMW facelifting there models every 4 years, in General it is but it is not always the case. the BMW E46 sedan came out as a 99 model in the USA and by model year 2002 it had the new facelift. which means that there were only 3 years of the original E46 front and rear end where as there were 4 years with the facelift.this only applyed to the sedan version were as the coupe and convertable the original front end rear end were out from 00-03 for 4 years and the facelift came for model years 04-06 3 years.

The E46 was intruduced in 1998 and got facelifted in 2002.

The E46 coup? was intruduced in 1999, I owned one delivered in June '99.
