My Ride: 2004 550i - AS, SP, CWP, Nav, L7, Rear Sunshades, PDC, Comfort Seats
Default

I recently placed an order for a 2007 550i with the following options: sport package, active steering, Logic 7, navigation, cold weather package, and rear sunshades. I was able to get $3100 below msrp. Is this a decent number?

I have also read in this forum that the facelift, updated interior and new shifter will be available on the build date of March 2007. My vehicle will arrive in March 2007 and have a build date of January 2007. Can someone please confirm? If this is true, I will prolong my build date until March.

Any assistance will be appreciated. This is the best forum!

I ordered a 550 last month, and was able to get 3500 off. when i went for $4000 two different dealers let me walk out. So, that's as low as I could get in southern California, pretty much the deal you got. Mine is supposed to be here on 12-11. I have seen someone on this board say they got almost $5000 off list buying from dealer inventory in New Jersey. As for the facelift, I don't know if you will get it or not. There are some pics of the bumper upgades etc, they seem pretty minor to me. If they aren't going to start building your car until next year anyway, it may be worth it to wait until you know you can get the new model. Probably only cost you 6-8 weeks at the most.

If you really want to fixate on low price, you should consider european delivery. I bought mine for $9K below US MSRP or $1K over ED dealer invoice price. Of course you have to add in the cost of the trip. If you just want to touch the car and come home, you can do that for $800. This was my second ED so I wanted the experience of driving around, seeing the sights, and testing the speed limiter @152 mph on the autobahn. That is the least expensive way to aquire your car. Good luck and enjoy the ride!

Thanks for the responses, they are much appreciated. So I am glad I was able to get money off msrp especially for a 550.

Can anyone confirm that March 2007 is the build date for the facelift and interior changes?

Is it better to get the original or facelifted E60? Which would have a better resale value if I were to sell in the future?

I am a little confused about the challenge to get a discount. I bought my 550i and while the MSRP was 68,000.00 I paid 54,500.00...it had never been registered and had just 104 miles on it. Albiet its a 2006 with a build date of 11.17.2005, I didnt seem to have much of a challenge getting to my pricepoint (bought in August) ...did I get an exceptional deal or something?

I would have expected with a model change coming up and it being the end of a model year BMW dealers would be quite willing to play with the price....

I'd day you stole it! That's a fantastic price against all that equipment.... Well done! I would have jumped on that deal.

You got a great deal!!! It has always been a challenge to get below msrp at the dealerships in the east coast. I am happy with my discount, but would be happier with your numbers. The only difference, I am not getting the car used, but is it worth the premium of $10,000 to say I am the first owner?

I am still stuck on staying with the current styling or the updated styling for the MY2007.

I would like to hear everyone's opinions.

Here is an update. I got a call from my CA today. He got an allocation for my order for March production. I decided on Carbon Black with black leather seats. He mentioned that the car will arrive early April.

Just I thought you should know this. Since you are getting a black interior, your headliner will be gray. If you want the optional anthracite headliner the code is 775 and the price is $500. Just fyi!
