Having my 535d recoded tomorrow by the dealer. I complained of some rough shifting betwean gears they said they will bring the gearbox firmware up to the latest revision but this would take up to 6 hours and the firmware on the entire car is updated including the iDrive.

Anyone know if there is much difference betwean an early 2007 535d and a later one with the newer code, anyone have a bug fix list?

My 2007 is the one with the new transmission.

I had my Sep 2007 upgraded in April 2010 and I had high hopes for new feel and functionality... It took 3 days and the result was ZIPPO, ZILCH, NONE - I couldn't feel or see any difference. The upgrade however was necessary in order to code new functionality that I had installed myself so there was apparently no way around it. But to upgrade for the sake of upgrade, I would not recommend it. Now it obviously is best to see a list of specific upgrade versions by date, to see if your specific problem may indeed be rectified but I wouldn't hold my breath. I have seen the list somewhere and will look for it and post the link soon.

Thanks for the info, but the list appears to be for pre LCI mine is a 2007, anychance you know where to find that list?
