Hey guys, good news, i have gotten word from my SA, that the 2005 productions model has officially ENDED, and the 2006 has officially begun production, if i order my car now, i will get the new engine according to him , And he says that the Active Steerings is still part of the Sport Package. He also said he does not know exactly about the Nasca Leather as of yet, and will keep me updated on that. so i will do the same for you guys.

Phill, if you can, please enter your location in your profile since so many things BMW are country specific...

Very cool, btw, this is only if you order it to be produced from the factory after your order. . not one thats on the lot or already on their way here, i know that's probably obvious but i figured i'd say it anyway

Anyone else feel that this is a bit premature for 2006 US models? I would have thought that the 2005 production run would run at least for a few more months.

(I think in Europe they count model years differently. Maybe this information isn't true for the US market?)

well, i got that from my SA over at the dealership, he said he thought it was strange too. but if i order my car to be built now, i can have the new 06 build. with the 255 hp engine. whether or not you would like to believe that is up to you

EDIT - I e-mailed my SA just now, to see if he can send me any official documentation about since i too am a lil skeptical. will post it up if i get it

Yes, here in South Africa and in Europe the new model year starts on 1 January

If major things like engines change there is no difference, the new model year starts on 1 January
