Default 2006 E60 550i is DIY key fob possible.

I recently bought a 2006 550i, I only received one key. I want to avoid the dealership as the one in our area is horrible. I want to know if there is a way I can program the fob I purchased online to unlock /lock the doors. I have looked for three days I have not found any method that works.

I'm not interested in taking my present key apart and changing the battery not until I have a second working key. . I am going to have the key cut and the fob coded to the car so it will start it. but id like to be able to program my remotes so that I can access the car roll down windows etc.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Nope, needs to be done with the proper equipment. I had great success with www.roskinc.com, best price I found and had it turned around in a day.

Yes - you can purchase blank fobs for under $20 each and program them using HiTag2 (Less than $60) and BMW Explorer (E/F Scanner) which is around $100 from Aliexpress. I uploaded a video of it here:
