2006 E60 530xi Auxiliary water pump
Hello there! I'm getting a code for a bad auxiliary water pump on my 530xi. My Bentley is showing this as on driver's side frame rail near alternator. Nope. Not there. I went to Realoem to look at a parts diagram that shows the lower hose from the water valve going to a water pump that is grayed out and no reference to it.
Here's my question:
Is the auxiliary water pump part of the actual water pump on the bottom of the passenger side of the motor, or it incorporated in the thermostat housing.
If it is neither of those, where the heck is this thing located?
Those ideas don't sound right but I cannot locate anything that looks like an auxiliary water pump.
Thanks for any help!!

I just think you don't know what you're looking for. On the driver side locate the heater valve. There will be a hose going towards the radiator follow that hose to the aux pump. It should be sitting on the side of the cooling fan on clipped on the frame

Do you have auxiliary heating? I don't think you do. If not your water pump/thermostat and heater valve is your heat system.
Do you see an unplugged connector in the area the aux pump is supposed to be mounted? Has the IHKA been replaced and was replaced with the wrong one.

I've had this car for a little more than 8 years now. It has always been quick to heat, it started not heating as well so started checking codes etc. I have an Auxiliary water pump fail code so I'm trying to fix that. My IHKA system does have the "Rest" function.
Yea I'm at a loss and I think you guys see now why. ?

Take a pic of your heater valve and post it. The only thing I can think of why your heat is not getting warm as it use to and I don't see an aux pump is a stuck open thermostat or failing heater valve

Ok so that part is for a BMW that has auto a/c and no Aux heat. If that part number matches what was originally installed then you do not have aux heat and your pump and thermo supplies heat to the cabin

You should either have 64119122396 or 64116978430 IHKA installed. Those do not have the Rest button. Your car has basic IHKA this is the reason you have the aux pump error because the wrong IHKA is installed
