Default 2006 e60 525I diagnose Restraint Systemn Faulty by inpa

Here is the code from Inpa

9B01 (wiring) break detonation circuit2

from Satellite vehicle center module SFZ60

Any idea how to fix this? What part I need to change?

After i erase it it comes back on in about a month.

Thanks

I am pretty sure the cause of that error is the Battery Safety Terminal (BST) that is attached to the positive terminal on the battery. Replace that BST cable and erase the error.

Was the car in any accident (even a minor accident)?

100% agree with pcy. I had the same fault and changing the BST solved it for me.

I have the same problem...just changing BST cable is too expensive in my opinion. If anyone can find a cheaper source, please share! Thanks!

Unfortunately, there are no viable/proper alternatives...
You can try searching the junk yards for E60 and look for BST cable. Very unlikely you will find it.

May be you can solder the cable where it separates. I wouldn't recommend it, it's your vehicle :-)

From my understanding, the BST cable would destroy itself in any accident, even those minor ones. That makes impossible to find a good one from junkyard.....T_T

I have a spare BST cable (along with positive terminal) that I bought used awhile back for $180. I was troubleshooting the my restraint fault error but it turned out to be the front seat occupancy matt.
I would sell it. However, as I said I got it used and I don't know if it works. It does look good though. I'll take pics if anybody is interested. It's in storage though so it could take a couple of days.
