i know we have all been talking about what it will be called, either the 545 or 550. This is important to the current 545 owners cuz they dont want to have the "old" model... this is understandable. What i would like to know is not the name but the engine and when it will be official that the engine will be a 4.4l or a 4.8l? I am going to talk to the dealer about ordering a new 545 but if it wont be that much of a difference i would jsut assume get a 550 if its not that much more of a wait. Can anyone adress the issues of what will be happening and when this should be made official. Also what should i expect the sales rep to say, will they be able to shed any insight on this little situation of mine?

Its going to the a 4.8L from the current 7 series BMW. the 750i. Price difference no one really knows yet. But assume $1000 to $1500 more would be my guess. But keep in mind there will not be much or any discounts compared to the 545s. It wont probably be made official till July Aug or even Spet 1st. BMW is like that they dont release info till the last minute. Look at the new 530s for March. Sale rep will give you a bunch of crap. some good some bad... but you can find all the good info here.

Wait for the 4.8L engine. Its always better to have the "current" model; better price in case you'd want to sell it a year down the road.
