So I just recently bought a 2006 550i 190,000 kms on it, my first BMW, I loved dtiving it in DS mode and was just teaching myself how to do smokeshow so it was all fine I was smoking the tires out lol and next thing I know wen i pull shifter to left to go to DS mode it won't change and just stays in D now a buddy said to me the car computer type thing probably went into like Economy mode cuz its saying it doesn't want me to drive it how I was is that the case or is it something to do with the transmission? Anyone else have this issue id greatly appreciate any feedback, being a female and all im totally lost lol thanks guys!!!

You definitely have a trans issue. I would first hook it up to INPA or ISTA D to see what the car is telling you. Has there been a trans fluid drain and fill yet? Is the level of the fluid ok.

If you don't have the means to troubleshoot the car I wouldn't be doing playing with it. These cars are fun to have but can become costly when you have to seek a garages help to fix issues especially modules.

Maybe your car doesn't like you doing smokeshows. If it lets you go to DS after things settle down, then that's the case.

My 2007 335i out of nowhere wont draw in sport mode. At the point when I attempt to move physically it connects with the M1, M2, M3 and so forth yet then resets to Drive again following a couple of moments.

I had a similar problem like this.

Wouldn't go into DS.

After removing the trim around shifter and seeing the wires for the shifter, one of the wires was actually broken. I just soldered it back, and back to normal.
