Great deal!!!!! You will be very happy.

Too bad for us new car buyers...we lose roughly $10K when we drive off the lot   New cars never seam to have the resale value in the first few years. I think I'm gonna look for a deal like yours or at least CPO next time around!

It will be interesting to hear your first hand impressions coming from a 545.

Hell of a good deal!

...but isn't Parktronic standard on a 550?

The car was sent in on a trade for a new E550 Benz
All the carfax reports checked out. No repairs done, no BMW buyback, no repo. They are a reputable dealer and basically needed to move the car off the lot. Since I kept beating them down on price they knew that I was seriously interested so they checked what they could get rid of it for at auction and it was about $52k, and that is only if there is a demand for the car at the auction on that day. It could even be auctioned off for lower. So rather than going thru all that hassle, they obliged and sold the car to me for what I wanted. In the beginning, I told them $55k out the door. $55750, not too bad!!

Parktronic is the Park Distance Control (PDC)

I have Toyo T1R's on the 166's. 245/35/19 front, 285/30/19 rear. Best tires I have ever owned!

I will get pics up next week when the M-kit is on and the windows have been tinted.
You are a lucky man indeed - and smart for having done all the checking up on it. I'm happy for you. "You done good"!!

I know PDC - I have it - I just had never heard that term - Parktronic...

I may be getting a set of 166s soon myself and may use your tire set up. They're coming off an M5 and the tires are huge on them - would not fit as a straight swap.

Enjoy it!

You're so right - but imagine all the looking around and beating on resale dealers and looking on line to find JUST the car we want on a lot. I guess we pay for the convenience of having exactly what we want - inside/oustside color, options, etc. We are paying for that privilege. There were a few 545s around for sale at the dealership - canceled orders and such (before the 550s came out) and I looked and could have gotten a good price on a new car - but none were specced the way I wanted and we just don't spend 60K plus to NOT get the exact car we want - down to the steering wheel type. I guess you could do some mods later, but then your original savings will go out the window...

Regards,
Santiago
