"Why do people spread completely wrong info. Being too lazy to google but not to lazy to type in an answer full of wrong info"
My appologies to the OP. I admit when using my phone I do get lazy and I perhaps just respond too quickly on the phone rather than when I'm in front of my laptop.
Diamond, who the f$@k lit the fuse on your tampon sister?? Man why do people have to be an a$$ behind the keyboard.

Why do people spread completely wrong info. Being too lazy to google but not to lazy to type in an answer full of wrong info. Do a search. M54 engine in the 530 225hp. That was in 04 and 05. In 06-07 it has the n52 engine with 255 hp. The 525 has 185 hp with the M54 and in 06-07 has 215. So you are compariing a 525 with 215hp to a 530 with 525 hp

Back on subject....I haven't had any troubles with my 04 model. I will be taking it in for an oil change and a recall but thats it! Since the car wa bought by the previous owner, my car hasn't seen anything outside regular maintenance. I will say though, I have the service records pulled every time I look at a car. Service records will tell you a lot.

Apparently the 2004 model 530i's were some of the best because of the M54B30 engine and its the reason I went with it and not the faster V8 545 that was supposedly plagued with issues.

Actually in 2003/2004 when the e60 came out nobody had a single concern about the 545 engine. The minor issues it had in the 745 had been addressed and only later did problems come out after a couple years. So not likely that you "chose" a 225hp engine over a 325hp engine to due this reason. You could'nt afford it but why lie?

Who's to say he's lying? Who pissed in your cereal this morning? Oh, that's right, you have a 2010 M5 with all the options, right? No, you have a 530 like quite a few of us do, get real. Sometimes it's not about cost, I came from an SRT-8 Jeep that was costing me $750/mo in gas so when I went looking for a replacement the last thing I wanted was another V-8, hence the 530. Not to mention getting a great deal on it at the time (bought my car in 2007 with 16k miles on it for $29k, kinda hard to pass up). That was my situation and I don't regret it for a second, at the time I got exactly what I was looking for. That said, the next car will be a V-8 - at least!!!
