I have a 2006 525 with 105000 miles on it. I recently had it to the dealer for repairs totaling 5000 dollars that is covered under the extended warranty I purchased. This experience has been great with the dealer as well as the warranty company. I plan on keeping this car as long as I can so the main question. Should I extend the warranty for another 2 years for 3800 dollars or should I take my chances? Not looking for a definite answer as I know things can happen over time, just looking for advice if you were in the same situation.
Thanks all |

OP - Out of curiosity, which warranty company covers after 100k miles? Further, what were the repairs done at the dealership for $5k? This will be informative to other members. Thanks,

Working on my hesitation issue. Easy care is the warranty company. They were excellent about taking care of warranty issues. Never a question or hesitation. I estimate that between my claims and the previous owner's they paid out at least $12K in four years (2004 545i). I think they wanted $5K to extend another 36 months/36K miles on the same bumper to bumper coverage, but so many things had been replaced that I decided at 76K miles to roll the dice, put aside a kitty and wrench the easy things myself. Car has been flawless for the last 8K miles. |
