Yo guys, I'm kinda haunted by the posts that I see on this forum about numerous problems with the e60. Before purchasing one (in the summer, not now), I'm just curious as to if the 2005 e60's are more reliable than the2004 (well of course they ARE, but) what kind of problems can I epcect? I can't expect it to be as reliable as my 96 camry (whcih imho really sucks
)

Remember that we are a tiny cross-section of e60 owners, and by our nature (taking time to post on an e60 board), we are going to mention every little, tiny thing as we share our experiences and try to squeeze the last % from our cars.
Remember if someone has a problem, they'll likely seek out the board to share it (and try to get it fixed)
So don't let us put you off. 99% of us are extremely happy with our cars and there isn't a car forum in the world that doesn't have the odd horror story about XYZ make/model.
Good luck with the purchase

So far 750 problem free miles. The only problem I have is not enough road around to hit top speed.
I will definitely post if something goes wrong.Alot of the previous software bugs mentioned here have all been fixed. The BT issue has been discussed ad nauseum. The only issue I have is no RDS on the radio. I chose the Logic 7 so I can definitely hear the difference between digital radio and my CDs.

As some of you may know, I had an initial issue with my smg transmission (horrible lag between shifts). However, after one day at the dealer, the car drove like a totally different car (a very good thing). I now have only 700 miles on the car, but, so far, now problems.

Almost 5000 miles. No problems at all. Would like RDS and a faster response time in I-drive. My car is probaly as reliable as any 2005 model because I have the latest software. I have BT functioning well. I will get the cupholders fixed when I take it in next. I am happy and love driving my car.

I've had my car exactly 300 days as of today. Had passenger restraint problem when new which was easily fixed. Only minor (intermittent sofware) issues since. I am afraid to take it in (even though I have received the emissions recall software update notice) because I don't want it to come back all screwed up with newer software.
