Default 2005 Bmw e60 CCC Idrive unit problem

I've recently purchased a 2005 BMW 530D and the Idrive unit has been having issues with starting up. Occasionally the screen will start up normally and work perfectly fine, usually in the morning or when I haven't started the car for a extended period of time. But majority of the time the screen will get stuck on the BMW screen and will glitch and flicker. It will constantly do this as it continues to try to boot up. The owner of the car before me told me about this problem and he said it was most likely to do with a faulty fuse, do you think this could be the case? If so what should I look to replace?

In the event that the CCC unit may potentially be unfixable, just wondering if I'm able to replace my CCC Idrive unit for a apple carplay unit, as might as well just upgrade newer. What is the process of installation, Is it difficult? Also what should I look for specifically when looking to purchase one. I'm not overly fussed about having a carplay unit and if it is significantly easier or cheaper to just install a OEM unit I will stick to that.

Default Ccc

Have you tried doing the hard reset? holding eject button(s) and the volume button for like 30 seconds.

There’s a fuse in the glove box and also one behind the ccc unit.

I also have a working ccc for sale. $250obo

Thanks for the response, I've tried the reset but I didn't know you had to hold down both eject buttons. If when I try it it doesn't work do you know which fuse in the glove box is responsible for the Idrive unit and what I should do to fix or replace the fuses. May take you up on that offer if all else fails.

On my 07 530i it’s fuse 34 in the glove box

There might also be fuse 64 in the trunk

then the fuse on the back of the ccc unit

Kinda strange that you said it works fine in the mornings, maybe it’s the fan on the back of the unit that isn’t working, causing it to overheat and glitch? I hear the ventilation back there isn’t great

I got a fault code from a scanner under the central information display (CID) section. Not sure if this is relevant to the problem.

A468
State: Current
CID: External open circuit (LVDS data line)
