I have steering wheel sensor problems. I got this print out from INPA but I don't really understand what it is saying. I have OPS DIS & SSS and all the BMW standard tools. Can someone please show me how to use these tools to calibrate steering angle sensor and air bag error. Thanks. I've attached a print out from INPA.

Calibrating the steering angle sensors
- Start the engine (the "Active Steering inactive" Check-Control message appears).
- Turn the steering wheel first as far as it will go anticlockwise and then as far as it will go clockwise.
- Alternatively the vehicle can be driven at about 30 to 40 km/h.
- Turn off the engine and switch off terminal 15.
- Start the engine. The Active Steering and all its functions is now available.

My method:
- Find a no-traffic, open area to drive slowly in
- Drive slowly, turn steering steering wheel full left, then turn full right
- Turn steering wheel back to center, stop and park vehicle
- Turn off ignition, remove key, wait 10 seconds
- Start engine, confirm normal Active Steering operation

I found out how to do it with DIS v57. However, it won't adjust because the engine location angle won't reset. Maybe have to do with conflicting VINs.
In DIS:
Diagnosis E60, etc
under Chassis:SZL, DSC, or AL (qick test)
you will see the error click (Function Test)
then Click Test schedule after you highlight the error. Follow the prompts from there.

Wassup my car brother! What's going on, how is the ride? My ride is running like a champ except I found out that the CAS, Key, DME, and Kombi are all from another(same) car. Runs fine but looking at mucho dineros to get it 100%. I purchased a new CAS and key and going to try to switch them out, not sure how to but gonna try anyways.

I'll try the steps you've outlined. How's the law thing going? Have you started on any mods for the beast?

I'm doing well bro! The ride is running just fine. A while ago I had an issue with the tensioner pully that I got replaced along with the serpentine belt. I believe I need control arm bushings replaced. I'll need to take a peek sometime soon. Still no sound, although after trying to code the AMP without success, I have not done anything else to try to correct it.

Hi guys,
I went to the mechanic and he suggested that after diagnostics, he said I need to replace the steering wheel sensor.
The problem that I have is that when I start my drive for the day, and I give it alot of gas without warming up the car, the engine craps out for a few seconds and then the computer turns off and resets. Then the brake symbol as well as the traction control symbol comes on with a message to drive the car moderately.
Afdter parking the car and reving the engine, the problem goes away.
Is the related to the Steering Wheel Sensor?
