Hi All,
I just picked up my 2005 545i and do not see the bluetooth tab in communications in i drive. I read a bunch a posts but still am not sure what the 2005 should come with. Should it have bluetooth and what version software should it have? Furthermore, how can I tell the production date from the VIN?
Thanks
Leon

I've paid absolutely no attention to the BT threads other than the early one where pharding announced that it was working.
My only question is, since I'm getting new software next week, do I need to request that BT be activated or does it automatically get setup with the software upgrade by default?
At this time, I'm not even sure I'm going to use it but it might be nice to have for the future I guess. Right now, it's not worth me paying anything for it so again, if I'm going to get it for free, great. If I have to ask for it and pay some additional labor to have it installed, then no thanks.
Anyone know the answer?

If you don't have a BT phone now and aren't planning on getting one in the near future, don't waste your money. You could always enable it later.
Cheers!

Thanks for the input guys!
I may pass this time around for a couple reasons...
1) Someone borrow my car? You're kidding, right!
2) I don't want to throw too many curves at the tech doing the CIP upgrade. As much as I love my dealer and the techs, I'll be lucky if I come out of there with everything working the way it's supposed to. No need to mix it up with the CPT9000 at this point...
