2005 545i Radio Stops working for 3 to 4 seconds

Has anyone had this same issue? I will be driving and all of a sudden the sound from the radio cuts out for 3 to 5 seconds then the radio comes back on. When this happens I have tried to increase the volume or change stations but it doesn't change anything.
I do have my iPhone hookedup, but it seems to do it with my wifes phone in the car too.

I had a similar problem a few months back with all the audio components: radio, ipod and cd player. The voklume breaks happened more frequent when the car or outside temp got hotter. The dealer found out the problem was with amp. They changed it out and the problem is gone. Hope this helps. GL.
