My Ride: 2005 545i Blk/Blk Sport Package

I performed a search on this topic and got several irrelevant topics.
I need a new battery for my 2005 545 and I'm checking to see whats available and what others have used. I obviously prefer not to go to the dealer. I read some posts regarding different battery brands in the past but, cannot seem to find them.
Any help would be much appreciated!

I have been looking myself:
http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...42&hg=61&fg=30
Part number for the 110AH is 61217591085. It's made by Exide.
Onlinebmwparts.com sells it for $181.60

Personally I wouldn't use Autozone batteries. I've used them on my other cars and they never lasted more than 2.5 years. I have just been doing their warranty and prorate deal everytime their Duralast batteries screwed me. Now with the BMW battery registration, it would be an additional cost each time the Duralast doesn't last.

I have a Duralast and did not bother with registration. Personally, I believe it is a waste of money and if you do the math, any reduction in battery life is easily offset by using less expensive non-BMW batteries and the cost saved in not registering them. Search the forums. I don't think anyone who has not registered has experienced a problem.

Right now my OEM battery is still going strong and it's been just over 5 years old. I'll gladly pay for that piece of mind and reliability. To add to that, I plan on getting the BT scan tool anyway so that I can do my own diagnostics and battery registration.

everstart maxx-94R
Walmart $67
3 yr warranty
Been using them for years on 5 different BMWs...Manufactured by Johnson Controls.
Get a new one before 3 yrs, then perhaps you'll get 6 yrs for $10 a year you can't beat that. More powerful all around than OEM battery.
