In light of the multitude of confirmed problems, I wonder if there's any chance that BMW might consider voluntarily extending the factory warranty on the 2004 e60 models to 100,000 miles, like they did with the 2002 and 2003 745s?

I doubt it.
In Europe the warranty is two years.

When I bought my 2006 e60, I paid for the upgraded warranty to total of 6 yrs/100K miles. Through 9000 miles, I haven't had any problems yet, but I'm sure they're out there waiting for me!!

Around here 2 years. I asked for it and the answer was: not available.
And i know if you go to the dealer all the services they can help you in some warranty situations even after the 2 years but if they don't have the service record .... you have to pay hard for everything ....

Prob not. they did that with the 745s cuz isnt it sold in less quantities than the E60s? If they're going to extend it to 100K for 2004s they better do it for 2005s too!
