Please I need help.

My car 2004 530 BMW is having cruise control malfunction and wiper blades stay on when I turn on the car, almost every two weeks. Also the power windows dont work, alarm doesn't work, I have to unlock the car with the key. Then I disconect the battery wait 15 seconds and connect the batter again and the problem is solved.

I was having the same problem with my old battery at the end of its life almost once a week for a month until the battery died. I replaced the battery for a new one from Sears but I continue to have the same problem but less frequent now. The original battery died back in 2008, it lasted 4 years, the second battery dies 2012 and lasted also 4 years. I havent registered any of the battery that I have installed.


Please let me know if there is a solution to my problem.

Unlock the secret obc menu, go to menu number 9 and check what the voltage levels are like in key position 1, key position 2 and while the engine is starting.

Also, go into the boot, remove the bottom panel revealing where the spare wheel sits, then remove the left and right carpet pieces, then remove the spindle for the spare tyre, lift up the carpet in the spare wheel well and check for water.

a few people have has weird electrical problems and registering the battery solves it. This is quite a rare fix though.

 

Strangely I am having the EXACT same problem after my car was parked for a few months and battery went dead. Please help and let me know what you did to resolve it! Or was it just the battery going bad??
