Ouch... I guess I'm keeping mine... I'm happy with my current car line up right now.

Doesnt surprise me anymore... I know someone who just traded their 04 545 with 55K miles and got $25K for a trade in. I was shocked at first but now reading this a second time... It does suck...
When I got my e60 I traded an Audi A6 2.5, TDI saloon - 3 years old with 120K - they offered me ?1100.

the low ball price sounds right.. My friend went to trade in his 06 550i last weekend and they low balled him as well.. he asked the BMW dealer, "why so low??" and he mentioned that of all the BMW models, the e60 has been one of the most purchased BMW's.. which results in a ton of supply out there.

you'll be better off trying the open market.. look at cars.com or other sites that you can advertise your vehicle locally. not to mention you'll get a clear look at what others are asking and compare them to your vehicle..

good luck

I have an 04 545i - Sport Pkg w/Steptronic, Prem Sound, Cold Pkg, Nav. I currently have ~ 80K miles. I love this car and I would rather hit it with a hammer than let some dealer give me $20K+ for the car. Ask yourself this question, what can you buy for $20K....a new honda or a toyota? Let's get real. I would rather keep the car or give it to one of my sons than part with it for a low-ball price.

agreed.. unless the car was giving you problems and was costing a ton of money to fix, then i'd consider. my original intent was to keep the car a year and then flip and look into something else, but the more i drive this car, the more i'm starting to really like it.

i bought mine with 38k miles, SMG, pdc, l7, heated seats, nav, prem, sport and cold for $33.5k

so 25k for one with hardly any options seems about right imo.

I added a few things that make my car more enjoyable as well:
1. Dinan Cold Air Intake
2. Dinan High Flow Throttle Body
3. Remus Sport Exhaust
Good for about an additional 25hp.

I also added the Auxillary input for XM or iPod.

For a highway cruiser, you can't beat it.

58,000 miles

Here are the prices for 6 speed from the dealer's auctions. Auto goes for a bit cheaper. It costs the dealer up to additional $1000 in auction fees, delivery, check, etc. So a dealer will offer you something around these prices.

Since the addition on the 550 and 535 the 545 seems to be dated by dealers eyes. I think the price you were quoted were right on track with the market now... Sucks but a reality

To help you compare and contrast a car that has both CPO and 100k maintenace....

I just bought my car for $27,400 from a very 'Mom and Pop' dealer. I think I got a good deal. The CPO and maintence was the deal closer!

Similar cars with just 6,000 miles less are going CPOed for well over 30k
