Hey,
I just got a 04' 545...left it at home for 2-3 days and then noticed a saturation on the ground. Here are pics...

Is that ATF? I saw some drips forming but there is the cover down there so no telling where it is coming from...
any info would be great

you need to get under there and really indetify the source of the leak. could be oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid or tranny fluid.
looks to be the consistancy of ATF, brake or PS fluid, but more the color of oil. this is going to take some investigating on your part

Wow thanks for the quick reply. It had a VERY faint smell. Could hardly smell it and hardly had a taste. Looked like ATF to me... the ground probably made the paper towel a little more dark than the oil is.

That panel under the transmission was soaked with oil on my car. I had 4 different leaks going on down there. It was Vanos, and then 3 other leaks.

Had similar problem with my 545 - first replaced just a tranny pan gasket, but leaked again. Second try was to replace whole pan and mechatronic connector sealing sleeve.
It will be easy to identify if that's transmission or not. I used to get oil under the car when car was not driven for 4-5 days. If you drive car every day you won't see a drop of oil on the ground.
