Hello guys, I have been trying to find the AUX input so that i can play music from my iphone/ipod but i cannot seem to find it. I did a quick search and apparently we have to buy some adapter, etc etc. Can someone give me the full rundown as to what is needed, etc. I do not have navi or 6disc changer

Doesn't exist on cars older than 2007 as standard feature, I believe.

I'm in the same boat as you and have done a bunch of searching. I have a 2004 545i and want the same aux input. Depending on where you take it, its gonna run $250-500 for it to be installed. The plug itself is only aroun $70, but then it needs to be installed, which is something you can do yourself(I am currently searching for a detailed DIY for this). The catch is, it then has to go to the dealer, or an indy with the computer to program BMW's, to be programed to see the "AUX" jack.

I've seen this before, but was really hoping for a DIY with pics and such on just what to remove and how to get to the back of the radio.

I had mine installed last week, it works great. Cost me $440 for install and programming.

There is a DIY about removing interior trim, check that out if you want to do the cable yourself. For me I would rather leave the dealer responsible incase any damage happens.

Be careful with even have the dealer install it. Seems when they installed mine, they disconnected the subwoofers and forgot to reconnect. Then when I asked about it, they thought the amps were blown so order new amps only to find that when they went to install the amps, that they had just forgot to reconnect the subwoofers.

Not a big deal, but a real hassle to resolve, especially figuring out who was going to pay for all that extra labor and the amps I no longer needed.

That's A LOT. The part is 70 bucks and the labor should be 1 to 2 hours MAX. I think mine cost about $200 installed. Even that's highway robbery IMO.....for a ridiculous aux input!

Yes it is robbery but much better then the $800 I was originally qouted. They are the only dealer within a 10 hour drive, they have a monoploy. It was worth every penny though!
