I had a fault with my Idrive, had a full upgrade to version 17 last week ( 1st upgrade since new ). Most of these have been spoken about here, I only found out about most of these features from this forum, many thanks.
Many many improvements:-
Aircon:-
Now works properly, eg if it is warm & you set it to say 18 degrees, the fan blows fast until the desired temperature is reached. Then it slows to maintain it. It did not do this before, now it is correct, same as my old 3 series.
Business radio ( bus. sat nav ):-
Plays MP3 CD's on dash player, a list of all MP3 songs are listed including titles etc.
Works really well, looks good too.
Business sat nav with 2004 disc:-
TMC works!
Traffic information page lists all local delays etc.
New option to mute the sat nav. lady.
Steptronic:-
Now more responsive in D, I used to switch to DS to overtake but do not have to now.
PDC:-
I may be imagining this, but now it gives warning tone in speaker nearest obstruction, eg if front left is getting close to wall then the tone comes out of front left speaker, If right rear is close then tone comes out of right rear speaker. etc. I'm sure it didn't use to do this. Can now park with eyes closed!.
A few little things:-
Gives 3 bleeps every hour, can be switched off on clock settings.
Now a missed call icon on I drive display is call missed while phone in car.
