20" rims = camber kit??? alignment?
#1
So i have 20" rims and got a flat. When taking the tire off the rim i noticed it only wore the inside and the outer part was still new. Is it because of the size od the rims? I have a sport suspension with no drop. Maybe i had bad alignment to begin with? Are u guys getting the same results with big rims? So i need to re aligne my car now that i got new tires? Thanks in advance.

Like Michael said rear camber tends to run a little high on the E60 at about -2.0 degrees which is considered within OEM spec.
If you are interested in reducing the rear camber and saving your tires I'm selling a camber kit I never installed.

Watch the tires and about half way through the life pull the tire and swap it to the other side (pull the tire off the rim and move it to the other side). This will help the tire wear more even to improve the wear life.

My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
I have 20" rims, and I am lowered on coilovers. While spec for our cars is -2.0 degrees of camber (which is actually quite a bit) the last time I had an alignment done I asked them to dial out as much camber as possible. They were able to get it down to -0.8 degrees. I sacrifice a slight bit of high speed cornering for MUCH longer tire life without having to get a camber kit Good luck.

I'm experiencing this issue myself. Great tread on the outside, completely worn and belts showing on the inside after about 20k miles. I'm going to follow aharper's suggestion and switch the tires around when I notice the tread worn halfway through as well as pjinca's advice on the camber adjustment.
Thanks!
Thanks!
