Hello all,

I am awaiting my 545i due in about 3 weeks. Can you tell me if the sport package comes w/ the M sport steering wheel like my 2002 530i or is it the same as the non- sport pkg? Those 2 bumps at 10 and 2 are great.

Secondly, Those of you with the upgraded sound system, logic 7, do you really aprreciate a large difference from the stock system?

Thanks for your opinions and knowledge.

Welcome. The 545i in the US does NOT come with the M wheel. If you lived outside the US you could get the M sport package, and the steering wheel would be part of that.

Regarding Logic 7, you can't upgrade, so it's hard to compare. But I've heard another E60 with the stock system and I know my car with Logic 7, and I can definitely hear a large difference.

I think the M Type wheel only comes with SMG (could be wrong). As for Logic&, I never tried the stock system to be fair, but the L7 is very pleasurable to listen to. Some folks have dinged it for not having enough practical control over equalization (and factory templates for sound imaging, e.g. jazz club, concert hall, etc...). It certainly blows away the stock system I had in my previous X5.

I think the stock wheel is thinner than the sports wheel. If you have the cold weather package, it is even thicker yet.

That's correct.
Sports steering wheel is thicker.

Probably tough to justify the cold weather package in FLA...I like the thick wheel it provides (but I do secretly long for the bumps).

Here's a link about Logic 7. It's personal choice specific to your listen habits. That said I think it is an absolute must.

There's a couple of other good threads on the board you can search for too....

Logic 7 is the best OEM sound system I, and many others have ever heard in a car. If you enjoy listening to music - get it.

Let's just say this about the Logic7....it's a LOT of extra money but I did sit in the car in my garage the first night I had it and listened to tunes for over an hour. At high volume. It was (and is) superb.
