So I have a spare RFT in the boot just in case I get a flat and need to get it changed while away.
Friday I got the warning and it turns out the left front was in a bad way.
Changed the tire and within 20 miles I got the warning again.
Thought it was the same tyre but no. The right front is now punctured.
Lucky for me I had RFTs or I would have had no option btu to ditch the car.

Bad luck with your punctures.

That is the one good thing about RFT's, you can keep on going with your journey. But unfortunately that is about the only good thing going for them. IMHO.

There is another option, and it's one that saved my ass too. It was in the mid 90s and I had an E34 M5. Got one puncture, replaced the wheel with the spare. Then on the way home (within an hour) I got my second puncture. Luckily I always keep in my boot/trunk one of those cans of foam that sprays into your tyre (instead of air). It got me to the nearest tyre place. Haven't had a puncture since then (and that was about 12 years ago). Crap, why did I say that. I have to drive 500 miles to Amsterdam on Thursday. I bet I just cursed myself.

I reckon you have too.
I had the spare tyre under the bed since I bought it a month ago (for emergencies).
Then I decided on Friday seeing as I had to drive up to Derry in northern Ireland I better have a spare.
Then I get 2 punctures.
I think I got 1 pucture when I had my Porsche and that was within a month of buying it. After that it was just my own choice when to change tyre rather than relying on fortune.
Still, no harm in having a couple of brand new front wheels coming into the Winter.
The rears are nearly new so they will be fine.

I'll do the lotto this week. Maybe my bad luck will swap to good.

I rented a car to drive the southern part of Ireland for 10 days ... the rural roads are terrible ... driving fewer than 800km I had a sidewall tear from rocks in the non-existent shoulders of the roads. Had to buy a new tire for Avis. Main roads are OK but once you leave the "M" & "N" routes it's like driving off-road! How often do you lose tires or replace bent wheels on your cars???
