Default 19'' vs. 20'' wheels

I recently purchased a 2008 535i and it has the sport package with stock 18'' wheels. It's very comfortable now BUT..... I want a more aggressive look. So the Mira 111 wheel I really like. My question is should I go with a 19'' or 20''. The 20'' looks better in my opinion but I can't afford to give too much of the smoothness of the ride up. Is there a big difference between the 19'' and the 20'' with regard to comfort and ride? Obviously tires will play a huge role so what tires do you suggest?

I suggest you take the 20s with slightly oversized tyres. Like 235/35R20 and 275/30R20.

19" tires are more expensive coz it's not common. 20" tires are easier to get but ride comfort sucks. I had 17"s before on my e60 then I tried 19"s I think I'm going to get 18s coz I like comfort than looks.

20" FTW! Your ride quality will only change a little bit. The stock 124's are heavy wheels which doesn't help our suspension system at all. The 20" Miro's iirc are just a tad lighter then the 124's so you'll most likely not notice the change in ride quality.

I've got 19" on mine and its not a huge difference from the stock wheels, although feeling bumps a bit more is of course expected. Biggest issue is the area you may live in, I live in New York, mecca of potholes and I've went through several tires already. Unless you live somewhere where the roads are smooth, 20"s would be a death wish.
